Zinc Carbonate – For Oil & Gas
- Zinc Carbonate (Transparent Zinc) is an excellent scavenger for hydrogen sulphide present in the oil wells.
- Zinc Carbonate has the following benefits when used as a scavenger for hydrogen sulphide present in the oil wells:
- Zinc carbonate reacts with hydrogen sulfide to form zinc sulfide or zinc bisulfide which is insoluble in water.
- Reaction rate of zinc carbonate is high because of its very small particle size and very high surface area.
- More effective than zinc oxide and iron-based salts
- Relatively economical
- Can be used in both water based and oil-based fluids
- Must be used in a fluid with pH higher than 9-10 (alkaline media) for effective removal of hydrogen sulfide
- About 1 lb/bbl of zinc carbonate should be used for every 800 mg/litre of sulfides detected
- (The above formula is only an indicative formula and the customer is requested to formulate their own individual formulation for their application depending on the hydrogen sulfide concentration.)
- Provided in 20 kg and 25 kg plastic/paper sacks
- Store in dry conditions away from direct sunlight
